We are a youth-led non-profit dedicated to tackling water pollution.

Founded by high school students, we create biodegradable fishing baits that not only remove toxins from Florida’s waters but also support STEM education in underfunded schools. Our innovative solutions promote environmental consciousness and empower the next generation.

Wania Saif – Founder/President

Hi, I’m Wania. I am a junior at American Heritage. I am enrolled in the Pre-med track and research. These are two of my greatest passions. In my free time, I enjoy volunteering and baking. Fishing for a better solution was a project founded on my research, which showed that the fishing industry has a direct impact on our health.

Ken Liu – Co-Founder/Vice President

Hello! I’m Ken, a Senior at American Heritage Palm Beach. I am currently in engineering and have done environmental engineering research in the past. The purpose of Fishing For A Better Solution really resonated with me, and I decided to contribute. Living in South Florida and spending time with the community has really inspired me to do more through this project!

Tony Luo – Vice President

Hi, I’m Tony. I am a senior attending American Heritage School in Palm Beach and plan to study computer science in my future career. I am passionate about using my skills in computer science to help people in need. I’ve had multiple projects related to this already. I joined fishing for a better solution to continue this goal, to give back to the community. I would like to use my skills to make the world a better place.

Preston Osagie – Volunteer

My name is Preston Osagie, I am a junior at American Heritage High School. I am enrolled in both the pre-engineering and pre-computer science programs. i like electronics, coding, and helping my community. Fishing for a better solution really resonated with me because I care about our environment and believe we should work to make it better, no matter how big or small the impact may be.
